Ellucian User Conference

Manchester 2019

In 2018 Enlightened were delighted to provide full conference production of lighting sound and AV the annual user conference for innovative technology company Ellucian in the fantastic brand new conference facilities of the Apex City of Bath Hotel. In supporting the Apex’s conference suite event technology delivery we regularly provide production crew and technical support to the diverse range of the hotels clients needs and are on hand to provide bespoke design solutions and skilled live production crew for all their clients additional lighting, AV and sound requirements ensuring every one of their clients events run faultlessly and are nothing short of spectacular.  

Ellucian is the market leader in higher education technology, with an extensive portfolio encompassing more than 2,500 institutions in nearly 50 countries globally.

Having supported Ellucian at their 2018 Conference at the Apex Hotel in Bath, as preferred AV supplier to the Apex, we have been invited to support them at their 2019 Conference in Manchester. The event is a 2-day conference with an informal evening dinner on day 1.

Enlightened was given a brief as follows:
To deliver audio visual, set and staging elements for the Ellucian Europe User Conference at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel in May 2019. We are aiming to create an informative environment during the day, incorporating the Ellucian branding and colour palette into our set design thus reflecting the Ellucian brand.

To create a relaxed and informal evening event on Wednesday 15th May following the day’s plenary and breakout sessions whilst considering the room turn-around time available.

To suggest theming ideas to enhance the informal feel of the evening event along with entertainment ideas to encourage networking and conversation between guests.

We supplied a bespoke twin screen white leatherette stage set, with screen surrounds, of LED tape light drawing on the purple theme from Ellucian's logo and matching lectern. We supplied a complete audio, AV and lighting package with the flexibility to provide suitable coverage for their daytime plenary sessions and also for the evening entertainment, including a live band.

The twin 3.5m wide projections screens utilised our Panasonic PT-RZ970 laser DLP projectors, controlled by our Analog Way Pulse2-3G Switcher. The PA system comprised of a mixture of flown and ground stacked Nexo speaker cabinets, with our Yamaha QL1 mixing the audio. A mixture of Sennheiser G4 lapel mics with DPA capsules and Sennheiser handheld microphones were used for the presenters and for audience Q&A The lighting rig was mostly LED, with ETC ColorSource profiles and fresnels and Robe Robin LEDBeam 150s being used alongside a handful of Robe Pointes and a single Robe Robin 600e spot (for the client's custom gobo). This was all controlled by an Avolites Tiger Touch II.

Enlightened also provided full AV and technical support for 5 breakout rooms in addition to the main plenary room.

For the evening entertainment, Enlx sourced a live 5-piece band, a wandering caricaturist and a photobooth for the delegates to enjoy during the informal evening dinner.

Further to AV provision Enlx were also tasked with supplying branding and theming for the conference, along with giveaways for the delegates. We supplied 3m wide curved custom printed fabric banners, signage boards for each floor of the hotel (the event was spaced over 5 floors) along with custom printed lanyards, cotton tote bags and take out cups, all printed in the Ellucian purple taken from their company style guide.
