Job Description

It was a privilege to facilitate Bristol-based composer James Dorman’s specially commissioned composition for a live performance in Bristol Cathedral which took place under artist Luke Jerram's beautiful  ‘Museum of the Moon’ installation.

The concert, titled 'James Dorman's Lunar Art Ensemble' showcased an evening of immersive music from acclaimed composer James Dorman, with compositions for clarinet, vibraphone, prepared guitar, and laptop.

Our Nexo P12 PA speakers and PS8 Monitors, powered by a Nexo NXamp (4x1 Mk2), proved the perfect choice for the space, providing stunning audio reproduction that made the most of the composition's uplifting top notes and haunting depth.

The Nexo P12s deliver superb clarity of performance due to their innovative design which reduces interference between the high and low-frequency drivers conflicting with one another. The compact coaxial design offers improved clarity due to the phase coherence of the concentric source configuration. A removable horn flange gives the ability to match the high-frequency dispersion pattern to suit the application. Offering flexibility over the coverage area, and keeping reflections to a minimum.

Sennheiser e614, DPA 4099, and AKG C414 Microphones provided instrumental pickup with a Yamaha QL1 and Rio rack providing our sound ngineer with consummate control.

Under the incredible backdrop of the huge suspended moon above the musicians, the event sounded truly otherworldly and really made the most of the Cathedral's atmospheric acoustics.
